About Us

Gary A. Smith, DDS

Dr. Gary Smith has created Hollywood smiles on Broadway for over 30 years.  During this time, he has created long-term relationships with many of his patients and enjoys making them smile.  After growing up in Council Bluffs, he attended Creighton University and graduated from Creighton University Boyne School of Dentistry in 1981.

He furthered his skills in dentistry by obtaining his fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry in 2002.  Dr. Smith is currently finishing his Masters in the Academy of General Dentistry, an honor requiring over 1100 continuing education hours spanning every discipline of dentistry.  Less than 1 percent of dentists in the country have a master in the Academy of General Dentistry.

Passionate about staying up to date in his craft, he is also involved in other professional organizations including the American Dental Association, Iowa Dental Association, Omaha Implant Study Club, Academy of Laser Dentistry, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the Crown Council, and is the current president of the Midwest Gnathostatic Study Club.  Dr. Smith has also furthered his aesthetic training with courses at the Hornbrook Group, OBI, Invisalign, and the Dawson Academy.  He has taken courses to treat sleep apnea and implants.

When not at the office, Dr. Smith enjoys traveling, golf, exercise, and spending time with his wife and two children.  He gives back to the community through involvement in the local Lions and Optimist clubs and through volunteer work with Catholic Charities, Give Kids a Smile, and the Iowa Mission of Mercy.  Dr. Smith enjoys the opportunity to work on many of his original patients’ grandchildren, a tribute to the lifelong friends his patients become.

Cary V. Jackson, DDS

Dr. Cary Jackson was born and raised in Winterset, Iowa. He earned his bachelor’s degree in biology and minor in chemistry, magna cum laude, at the University of Northern Iowa. He furthered his education, graduating with a Doctorate in Dental Surgery from the prestigious University of Iowa College of Dentistry, where he honed his skills under some of the top dental educators in the country. While at the University of Iowa, Dr. Jackson served as president of his dental class and earned the Annual Dean’s Leadership Award four years in a row.

Since graduating, Dr. Jackson continued his education with advanced courses in such topics as Invisalign, dental implants for replacing single teeth, mini implants for dentures, cosmetic dentistry, laser dentistry training, and early oral cancer detection to name a few. A member of the Academy of General Dentistry, Dr. Jackson is working toward his fellowship. He is also a member of the American Dental Association, Iowa Dental Association, Omaha Implant study club, and is currently the treasurer for the Southwest Iowa District Dental Association. Additionally, Dr. Jackson is on the Iowa Western Community College dental hygiene advisory board.

Dr. Jackson enjoys serving his community through Rotary Club International, Donated Dental Services, Iowa Mission of Mercy, and Give Kids a Smile. When away from the office, he enjoys traveling, reading, movies, and spending time with his wife, two cats, and dog.

The youngest of three children, Dr. Jackson grew up on a farm where he learned the value of honesty and hard work. Because he respects Dr. Smith’s passion for dentistry and focus on patients’ wellbeing, Dr. Jackson decided to become a partner at Broadway Family and Cosmetic Dentistry and now lives in Council Bluffs. He will do everything in his power to make sure you are satisfied with the treatment you receive at his office and that it lives up to his own high standards!
