About Us

Gary A. Smith, DDS

Iowa native Dr. Gary Smith has created Hollywood smiles on Broadway for 26 years. For the last 15 of those 26 years, he has been creating those smiles at Broadway Family and Cosmetic Dentistry which opened its doors in 1992. During this time, he has created long-term relationships with many of his patients and enjoys making them smile. After growing up in Council Bluffs, he attended Creighton University and graduated from Creighton University Boyne School of Dentistry in 1981. He furthered his expertise in general and cosmetic dentistry by obtaining his fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry in 2002. This fellowship involved taking over 500 hours in many disciplines of dentistry. He has also taken aesthetic courses at the Hornbrook Group, OBI, and the Dawson Center. Dr. Smith keeps current with dental advances by taking many continuing education courses. He is currently working on his Masters in the Academy of General Dentistry. There are only 1800 dentists in the Academy of General Dentistry that hold this degree. To earn this honor, a dentist must take over 600 hours of lectures and 400 participation hours in clinical hands-on dentistry in various disciplines of dentistry.

He is also involved in professional organizations including the American Dental Association, Iowa Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, Omaha Metro Implant Study Club, Academy of Laser Dentistry, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and the Crown Council.

When not at the office, Dr. Smith enjoys traveling, golf, bowling and exercise. He gives back to the community through involvement in the local Lions and Optimist clubs and through volunteer work with Catholic Charities.

Cary V. Jackson, DDS

Dr. Jackson, also born in Iowa, earned his bachelor's degree in biology and minor in chemistry, magna cum laude, at The University of Northern Iowa. He continued his education, graduating with a DDS from The University of Iowa College of Dentistry where he served as president of his class and earned the Annual Dean's Leadership Award for four years running. Implant and esthetic dentistry are his forte. Dr. Jackson holds membership in the American Dental Association, Iowa Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry.

Because he respects Dr. Smith's passion for dentistry and focus on patients' wellbeing, Dr. Jackson recently moved to Council Bluffs and joined Broadway Family & Cosmetic Dentistry as an associate dentist. Away from the office, he enjoys running, swimming, and reading comic books. Dr. Jackson is the youngest of three children, and he loves to spend time with his three nephews and only niece.
