Here’s what you can expect with our general dentistry services.

Routine Dental checkups, Omaha-Council Bluffs

Dental Hygiene Checkups & Teeth Cleanings

Bi-annual dental hygiene checkups and teeth cleanings can preserve the health of your smile and reduce the potential for serious dental problems.

During a checkup, we will inspect for oral cancer, periodontal disease, tooth decay, and problems with old dental work. Our dental team will also show you proper ways to brush and take care of your teeth to better prevent gum disease and cavities.

Periodontal Therapy

Did you know gum disease is the leading cause of tooth loss for American adults?

The first signs of early-stage gum disease (gingivitis) include tender, red, puffy gums, or gums that bleed when you brush your teeth. Gum disease can progress quickly into periodontitis. If left untreated, periodontitis can lead to tooth loss, gum abscesses, receding gum line, and increase risk for strokes and heart attacks.

The only way to know for sure if you have gingivitis is to see your dentist for a checkup. We offer scaling, root planing, and antibiotic therapy to destroy harmful bacteria and deter the factors that cause gum disease. In some cases, periodontal surgery may be necessary.

TMJ Therapy

Do you wake up in the morning with migraines or chronic headaches? Are your teeth worn down from grinding and clenching? Does your jaw pop or cause pain?

If you’re experiencing any of these symptoms, you may have TMJ dysfunction. TMJ dysfunction indicates a misalignment of the temporomandibular joints at the sides of the face, which can cause pain and other issues, including:

  • Chronic earaches
  • Facial, neck, jaw, or shoulder pain
  • Tingling extremities
  • Inability to open and close jaws comfortably
  • Bruxism (grinding of teeth)

Our dentists can assess your bite to determine whether you suffer from TMJ dysfunction. We may recommend non-surgical, splint therapy to correct your bite and relieve the painful symptoms. In some cases, we may refer patients to a TMJ specialist.

Technology

Our team of dentists and dental professionals are passionate about staying on the cutting edge of dentistry. That’s why we’ve incorporated state-of-the-art dental technology to optimize our diagnostic practices and provide more comfortable and comprehensive care.

Intraoral Cameras

People seldom have a clear idea of the actual status of their dental health. With an intraoral camera, you can sit comfortably back in the dentist’s chair while we examine the full scope of your smile and oral cavity.

This pen-sized, camera-tipped wand takes photos of the inside of your mouth. The camera then transmits the images via cable to a computing unit. Our dentists can identify problem areas and abnormalities and better inform patients of their treatment options.

Digital X-Rays

Digital dental X-rays allow us to see what’s going on beneath, between, and under your teeth and gums. Digital X-rays minimize radiation exposure ‒ they only expose patients to a fraction of the radiation produced by traditional X-rays. They allow us to detect receding bone and gum line, abscesses, gum disease, and problems in existing dental work.

VATECH 3D CBCT Machine

The VATECH 3D CBCT machine is all-encompassing, providing super-detailed, instantaneous cone beam, panoramic, and 3D images for root canals, tooth extractions, dental implants, and other dental procedures. This machine also helps us better diagnose and treat TMJ disorders, sleep apnea, and problems in the sinuses and oral cavity.

Soft Tissue Laser

Dental laser technology offers minimally-invasive alternatives to traditional scalpel incisions and sutured closures. Our laser has precise, predictable, and powerful reactions when it penetrates soft tissue. Laser light is extremely efficient, eliminates the need for scalpel instruments, and improves and speeds up the healing process as a result.

The Wand® by CompuDent

Patient comfort is one of our primary concerns, so we are proud to have integrated The Wand® into our practice. The Wand is a pen-like handpiece that administers anesthesia. CompuDent, the “brain” behind The Wand, is a computerized local anesthesia delivery unit.

The Wand helps patients relax before, during, and after procedures. CompuDent manages the flow and volume of anesthesia delivered and more accurately targets the treatment area.

Green Technology

We are committed to doing our best to minimize our impact on the environment. Utilizing an amalgam separator, we keep mercury from old fillings out of the local water supply. As a digital office, we minimize our use of paper and use recycled paper whenever possible. With reusable digital radiographs, we can considerably reduce waste, as well.

Itero Element 2 Scanner

This scanner takes digital impressions and speeds up lab turnaround time for dental crowns, bridges, and Invisalign. In most situations, say goodbye to messy impression materials and hello to a more comfortable dentist visit!

“The staff is very personable and helpful. They treat you like family!”
